7 Creative (and Cheap) First Date Ideas

When you really like someone then you want your first date to be memorable but how can you make a first date memorable when you also want to make it cheap?  This is a challenge but it can be done.  Here are 7 creative and cheap first date ideas.

Go To An Art Museum

An art museum is an excellent place for a first date because discussions about art are sure to reveal a lot about the person you’re with on the date.  Wandering around looking at art helps you to get past the usual getting-to-know-you topics to something more interesting.  This is an excellent first date with culture and a small price tag.

Go To A Botanical Garden

A botanical garden is an idyllic setting for a first date.  All the plants and flowers make for such a romantic venue that it is sure to get you both in the right state of mind.  Beautiful surroundings lead to pleasant conversation and maybe even a second date.

Go Stargazing

When you were thinking of creative first date ideas you may have forgotten that you can just look up.  Stargazing is fun especially if one of you can point out constellations to the other.  If not, you can get a book to help you out or just spend time enjoying the stars.  You could make up your own names for constellations for laughs too.

Play Around In A Thrift Store

Thrift stores can have wonderfully weird items and clothing that make for great conversation starters.  You want to choose this first date when you want it to be playful and just plain interesting.  You could pick out unconventional outfits for each other but this option is not for the faint of heart.

Go Skating

This could be roller skating or rollerblading.  Either way, it’s bound to be fun.  Outside or in a roller rink, if you happen to have one nearby, skating is a ton of fun and gives you plenty of chances to hold on to your date so that no one falls.

Go To The Library

Going to the library makes an amazing first date if you embrace the experience and totally go for it.  You can find some nice romantic poetry to read aloud in some room where that’s allowed or you can find a play and both read and act out your parts.  This first date idea is best for those with a sense of adventure.

Go To The Zoo

Going to the zoo is the perfect first date.  There’s so much to look at, to laugh about, and to be in awe of that you will have a wealth of shared experiences by the time you’re done.  This zoo date will bring out the kid in both of you and will show you just how mature your date is should there be animals engaging in inappropriate behaviors.

These 7 creative and cheap first date ideas are all good choices.  For any first date, you want to make sure that both you and your date have fun together.  That way you and your date will know that you can have fun together on your next date too.
